
When selecting centrifuge, there are three points should be paid attention:
1. Anticorrosion performance
Generally, the materials to be separated are corrosive to a certain extent. So the component of the centrifuge in contact with the materials must meet the requirements of corrosion resistance, so as to ensure safe use.
So, it is necessary to determine these factors: material types of structural parts (304, 321, 316L, titanium plate), sealing ring, gasket material, surface treatment measures (lining plastic, lining rubber, surface spraying), as well as the material of press cloth, etc. These factors should be informed to the manufacturer to ensure the anticorrision requirements.
2. Explosion-proof performance
If the materials (or environment) handled by the centrifuge contain flammable and explosive substances such as organic solvents, the centrifuge should be explosion-proof. The explosion-proof performance depends on the explosion-proof requirements (grade) of the manufacturing process. In the past, the explosion-proof motor was only needed. But in recent years, the nitrogen protection is also required.
Actually, in order to realize the complete explosion-proof of centrifuge, various measures should be taken in terms of machinery, electronic control, accessories configuration, etc., such as:
(1) Electronic control system: explosion-proof barrier, non-contact energy consumption braking system, electrostatic grounding, explosion-proof automatic control.
(2) Mechanical system: explosion-proof motor, explosion-proof lighting, anti-collision measures, anti-static drive belt.
(3) Explosion-proof accessories: nitrogen protection device, nitrogen online detection, on-site explosion-proof control button.
Therefore, in the case of explosion-proof requirements, the user should specify the separated medium, explosion-proof requirements and grades, so that the manufacturer can configure corresponding devices and take appropriate measures to meet the explosion-proof requirements.
3. Separation performance
Separation performance is one of the most basic functions including separation effect, washing effect, processing capacity, automation degree, etc. Due to the differences in material properties, including viscosity, particle size, density, solid-liquid ratio and other factors, it is difficult to accurately determine the final separation effect. Generally, the separation factor is used to measure the separation effect of the centrifuge.
The separation factor is related to the rotating speed and diameter of the drum, it is square to the angular speed of the drum.
For some materials, the filter cake still needs to be washed by washing liquid, and some even need to be washed several times to meet the requirements, so it is necessary to add a washing pipe. Washing effect, washing time is related to washing pipe aperture, layout position and structure.
The processing capacity of the centrifuge is related to the physical and chemical properties and separation requirements of the materials. Generally, it is estimated by the number of cycles per hour and the weight of filter cake in a single operation.
