
The horizontal decanter centrifuge is widely used in various industries. If the centrifuge vibrates violently when running, it will lead to the fatigue damage of the drum, resulting in accidents. In addition, it will lead to strong floor vibration and affect the service life of the building. In practice, most accidents about the centrifuges are related to vibration. Therefore, it is a very practical to study the vibration of centrifuge.
1. Composition of centrifuge rotor
The rotating system of horizontal decanter centrifuge is mainly composed of drum, differential, pulley and screw pusher. The differential shell and pulley are fixed on the drum to form a rotor. The differential, pulley and screw pusher form another rotor. The two rotors rotate in the same direction around the same axis with a certain speed difference. The differential speed is generally 2-28r/min. Then, a rotating system is formed.
2. Causal analysis of vibration
There are many reasons for centrifuge vibration. According to the characteristics and related factors of centrifuge vibration, the analysis and summary are as follows:
(1) When the centrifuges are in no-load operation, some brands of them have very small vibration, but others have relatively large vibration. The vibration is related to the manufacturing quality, and the key point is that the dynamic balance is not so good.
(2) If the inner wall of the drum is not cleaned enough, the accumulated materials in the drum will slowly deposit on one side of the drum when the centrifuge stopped. When the centrifuge started again, it will cause large vibration, even alarm stop. If the shutdown time is too long, the accumulated materials will be bonded, then the drum should be disassembled for cleaning.
(3) If the viscosity of the materials is too large, the fluidity will be poor. If the feeding volume is too large, the materials can not be discharged in time, then the materials will be accumulated along the spiral path, resulting in a certain eccentric force.
(4) Due to the wear of the bearing, the bearing clearance will be larger. Thus, even a small vibration force will cause obvious vibration of the centrifuge.
(5) In the process of drum assembly, due to different assembly methods or different assembly environment, the assembly precision will be affected. The result is a large dynamic balance deviation which causing obvious vibration of the centrifuge.
(6) The wear of each part of the screw pusher is different, especially the wear of the large cone angle section is particularly serious. The uneven wear results in the quality deviation of each part and increase the vibration of the centrifuge.
3. Solutions of vibration
The technicians jointly analyzed the causes of the vibration of the centrifuge and the solutions are as follows:
(1) Adjust the assembly process to solve the imbalance of screw pushing.
(2) Adjust the cleaning process to solve the problem of dirty cleaning in the drum.
(3) Verify the dynamic balance of the rotor to solve the problem of dynamic balance deviation of the drum.
(4) Carry out preventive maintenance, make annual maintenance plan and daily inspection plan.
